Gabapentin affects HSV western blot

Can Gabapention skew your Western blot test results.  I was taking 1800 mg when the blood was drawn. Can this change my results.  The results we negative after 44 weeks.  Also I read the some antibiotics can change the results.  I took doxyacycline 30 days before the blood test.

Grace.   The antivirals med definitely relieve the nerve pain in my penis. My derm doc says antivirals can only relieve hsv.  What do you think?  Also many guys are posting about an unknown virus similar to hsv.  Any insight on these post.   Symptoms are nerve pain in penis, skin irritation in crease of buttocks and crease of thigh.  Dry eyes and strange nerve pain in hand and behind knee.   Thank you!

very few people take more than 6 months to seroconvert. you've had no symptoms that sound like herpes. herpes would not cause non-stop pain like this either.

thank you Grace!  Is the Western Blot the final test.  I've read that some people do not convert in year 1.  Any ideas on what is the cause this nerve pain in Penis.  It is extremely hard to live with

I would take herpes completely off your list. your symptoms don't sound like herpes and you've had consistently negative testing.

yes - they have been giving me all kind of fungal creams.  The original skin irritation on but crease have cleared but I can still fell a slight burning pain.  Both skin irritation were bioposied and spongiatic dermatitus was diagnosed.  Completed and MRI, examined prostate, 3 rounds of antibiotics.  

Any chance that I am shedding way late.  I know the Western blot after 40 some odd weeks is fairly accurate,  I take Gabapentin and took anti viral for  2 weeks.  Stress and anxiety make it worse.  However some days the nerve pain and burn in crease are bad when I think I am calm.  Exhausted of all the Docs, but I am coming up on 1 year with no clear answer.

have they tried any pain medications for you to see if they can break the pain cycle for you? The penis is loaded with nerve endings ( which is why using the little guy feels so good! ) and sometimes once they get irritated, it takes a  lot to get the pain to stop :(  

have they  been treating you for fungal infections?

Thank you Grace - you seem to be the angel of mercy.  I have been struggling with nerve pain in/ on penis.  I aloso have a subcutrnous skin irritation that will not go away on my thigh crease and the original sub-cu red skin in the crease of buttocks.  This all started 30 days after unprotected sex with a mexican hooker in Jan.   I have been to countless derm docs infectous docs, uroligist and GP's.  Two say the neuraligia pain cannot be explained and just happens.  Any thoughts on next steps?

I had 4 HSV test.  The last one in October came back hsv1 1.4 HSV 2 1.05.  Thw western blot just came back negative for both.  Any advice or direction is a god send.  The nerve pain is worse with loose pants and warm climate
