Genital Herpes? Scared...

Had a high risk encounter on June 4, 2011.  I wore a condom.   Im not proud of it but I am married and had a moment of weekness.   On June 22, I masterbated without lube.  The next day I noticed burning and tingling just below the head of my penis.  My testicals also itched pretty bad.  This was bad for 3 days.  It has never really gone away.  We are now 25 days of this.  No sores.  The worst can be explained as a stickyness but I attribute that to hot summer moist in the pants stuff.  It is not sore to the touch.  It doesn't hurt to urinate.

The scary part is my wife is complaining of burning on her labia with crusty stuff in her pubic hair when she wakes up.  "feels like knives are poking me" She shared that it started about the same time as my symptoms.  We did have sex shortly after my June 4th incident.  She has no sores that she can see.  It doesn't hurt for her to urniate.

I have no sores or legions, just bad burning.  As of today, the area tingles and feels bruised from the inside.

Im concerned about having herpes.

If I go get tested at 7 weeks will that be good?

I don't feel like your symptoms are consistent with herpes, and the fact that you had no unprotected oral sex is also good to know.  I honestly feel like your encounter was very low risk, but I am concerned about your symptoms and your wife's symptoms.  I'm not so sure about all the doxy, but then he is in a better position to evaluate your situation than I am.  We actually don't use doxycycline any more for urethritis, we prefer azithromycin, but both work.

HI Teri,

Thanks for you help.

The condom stayed on.  There was no unprotected oral.  A few days later my wife and I had unprotected sex.

I asked her about yeast infection.  She stated she has had those and this isn't it.

I saw a urologist 2 weeks ago who says he doesn't think it is herpes.  He prescribed Doxocycline for 2 weeks thinking it was urithititis (sp?).  He didn't do any blood work.

The symptoms are still here.  He prescribed another 3 weeks of Doxocycline.

I saw another doctor today who ordered a STD panel including a herpes select.  He was concerned about the urithititis diagnosis saying usually you have painful urination with that.  Both my wife and I do NOT have painful urination.  It actually relieves my symptoms for a little bit to urinate.

Are any of my symptoms equating to herpes? or other STD?

Thanks again!

Condom stayed on.  Had sex with wife a few days after without condom.  No oral without condom.

Have had test in past a year ago and was negative.

Started with big time burning .. has eased to a tingle.

Has your wife been to see a health care provider?  I'm wondering if both of you might have yeast (fungal) infections, since you are complaining mostly of itching.  Did the condom stay intact and on the entire time?  Did you receive oral sex without a condom prior to intercourse?  Have you had sex with your wife since this encounter, and with or without a condom?

Testing at 7 weeks is OK but won't give you a final answer.  Have you ever been tested in the past?  Have you seen a health care provider about this yet?
