Growing more confused by the day

I need some direction; march 16th , I had 6-7 minute encounter with a partner, no insertion, just naked grinning on eachother; june 17th I shaved my groin area; within days my testicles were inflamed, i bought cortizone cream which didnt do anything; in the interim  between 3/16 and 5/17 i had protected relations with another friend 3 times;
getting worried  i went to a urologist he said that what i had didnt look like herpes ,gave me beta-val cream, not believing him , I went to an infectious disease Dr. he said that he agreed with the urologist , said that it didnt look like herpes. going crazy i had quest lab test me , it came back negative for everything, except HSV 1&2-- I was shocked; Quest test didnt give me a number ( .09 < 0.45), it just said positive!

I'm losing my mind--
---What test should I get to give me a definitive answer?
---My Son has acne and 4 weeks ago his lower back starting hurting (had xrays done,nothing showed up) Could I have kiss my son and gave it to him?
--The infectious disease doc said that 40% of men have HSV 2, he didnt test me, cause what he saw didnt look like herpes
What should I do? please help

i found the results (IGG, Herpeselect):
HSV1, out of range 5.0
HSV 2, out of range 1.48

What does it mean?

You need an HSV 1 and 2 IgG separately.  Quest labs definitely has an index value, you may not have gotten it, but their test results one out.  You need to probe more to see exactly what test was done.  It could have been a combined HSV 1 and 2, and you are only positive for HSV 1 (the usual cold sore virus).  Herpes doesn't cause inflammed testicles, this sounds a lot more like a fungal infection than herpes to me.

How did you arrange for the Quest lab to test you?  Get a copy of your test results and post them here and I will help you.  You can also ask them for the index values if the test was indeed an IgG separate test.

It isn't true that 40% of men have HSV 2.  it is much lower than that.  about 56% of adults have HSV 1, but the testing that you should have had done separates HSV 1 from HSV 2 accurately.

Does this help you?
