Help Me!

Hi I am a 22 yr. old female who just underwent testing for herpes due to vaginal sores that I developed at the same time I got sick with a cold. I have never had unprotected sex in my life, i have only had three partners, and I have not had any type of sex for 5 months. How could I possibly have these sores? The nurse practicioner who looked at them said they look like herpes, but I just do not understand how I could get it. I do use a vibrator and I have the worst immune system. Could it be something else BESIDES herpes????? I find out in 9 days and I cannot stop worrying about this.

Also-she told me the only other symtom that I have had could have been the urinary tract infection that i had six months ago. no swollen lymphnodes or anything. just the sores.

Using a condom leaves you FAR from 100% protected against herpes, it does for HIV because it is transferred via fluids (blood or semen). Herpes is transferred via skin contact. If a man gets herpes around the base of his penis, that is not covered with a condom and therefore leaves it wide open to transfer.

The good news is it's not a death sentence. If the sores aren't bothering you, that's the worst of it physically. However, you need to not transfer it to others.
