25yo Male Herpes Near buttocks

So this started about 8 months ago I had one pimple like bump on my buttocks didnt think too much of it went on with my life, fast forward to about 2 months later they multiplied and multiplied. Fast forward to now, I basically have a bunch of bumps all around my anus, iam straight male so i thought it was weird they were there I read somewhere you can get it anywhere correct? Ive been taking acyclovir that I obtained from a family member with herpes. I started this almost 3 weeks ago, with 2x 400 a day. Ive since upped the dosage to 5x about a week ago cant really tell if its working or not. Is maybe my condition too advanced i need stronger meds? Also I work at bars and drink A LOT im wondering if maybe this has slowed down the process. Itd be cool if i didnt have herpes but im pretty damn sure i do, also my first night on the acyclovir they flared up and hurt really bad so i figured that was the drug working. ANyway any responses are much appreciated, thanks.

You need to be properly examined instead of just self-treating (for what easily may not be herpes). Pimples too are common on the buttocks and can multiply easily in a bacterial infection. If it's been 3 weeks, very doubtful it's herpes. But be seen - we'd only be guessing here.

Have you ever been tested to know your herpes status? Do you have a regular partner?

you can stop the acyclovir - this isn't herpes going on. you wouldn't have herpes symptoms for 8 months and have them present and continue to get worse like this.
