I got my results back today fleetwood. The swab and the bloods came through completely negative :) I owe you so much for being there for me over my time of need but all I can say now is thank you. I hope other worries people on this forum have the same luck as myself. Thank you again.
I agree that in this situation you need to pursue a diagnosis through to conclusion, try not to jump ahead too much. Most people in your position will go on to be negative, not all though I agree.
So when I saw the doctor and he swabbed the rash that I have he have me tablets straight away to counter it if it was herpes. 3 days later when taking the tablets the rash has basically disappeared.. I've basically given up thinking that it's not herpes now.. I still have to wait two more days to get my results but I don't see it going any other way. If this is actually herpes it will wreck my life..
You're looking a lot at the area these days. This type of irritation happens quite a lot and you just don't notice or if you barely noticed it in the past then it had no meaning like it seems to now.
An outbreak is most likely to occur at the site of infection, the crotch fold is a bit out of the way I would suggest.
It was good to get a swab, I'm pretty confident that will be negative.
Hi again. Regarding the same topic as above, I woke up the morning with a rash on the crevice of my groin and my leg, left hand side. The rash is moist, but only hurts when touched. There are no spots that I can visually see on or around the rash and it is not itchy. I went back to the doctors today and they did not have my blood results, they also decided to take a swab test of the rash. I have to wait another five days before I get my results so I'm messaging on here to find out your views on whether this rash is thought to be herpes related or something else? Heat, sweat, stress etc.
There is no sign of spots or rash on my actual penis.
Really? That's refreshing to hear after reason so many damning statements all over the internet about hsv.
U people that put your hands up to do this service should be very proud of yourselves. Your changing more lives weekly than a lot of people have the chance to do so in their entire lives. Thank you so much, honestly.
It is true that there is always a risk, although it can be minimized by her taking antivirals and using condoms. The risk of transmission is then as little as 1% each year of sex.
I don't necessarily intend too but if things were too happen I would just like to know where I am at. I'm not one too naturally risk something like that especially now that I am more aware.
Now that I am aware of the situation I am not sure if I am comfortable too have vaginal sex (I really hope that doesn't offend anyone on this forum) as I have read that even with a condom there is still a reasonable chance of infection.
With that contact there is only a minuscule chance of infection, 1 in many thousands, this is even without sores present.
Do you intend to have sex with this girl further?
Thanks a lot for the quick response. I was hoping that it would be in my favour that we had not actually had penetrative sex. Where do I stand with oral sex? As stated before she does not ever show symptoms, a lot of what I have read says don't do it when sores or tingling is present. If she has no symptoms does that mean that me giving her and her giving me oral sex has no chance of spreading the hsv2 to myself? Thanks again for the response.
Minimal, 1 in thousands chance from what you describe. She is HSV2 positive though such that before you move onto another partner you may consider for their protection to have a blood test 12 weeks after last exposure.
