no lesions but everything else

I am scared I have herpes.  I posted in the STD forum, but my continuing symptoms are freaking me out.

My urine burns, I have an occasional sharp pain at the tip of my penis.  I was tingling and itchy in my groin for a few days and now it burns and itches.  I've also had tingling in my mouth and anal itching.

I had unprotected oral and protected sex (some unprotected contact) with a new partner 3 weeks ago.  I got tested a week ago but everything came back negative.  I have no blisters or lesions.

Is this too early for a positive HSV anitbody test?  Are my symptoms herpes or could it be something else?  How likely is it to have herpes with symptoms other than blisters?

this doesn't sound at all like herpes going on.

you need to wait at least 3 months post encounter for herpes and hiv testing to be accurate.

the burning and itching sensation is probably regular ole jock itch going on. you can try an otc jock itch cream to see if that helps with that since it's a weekend.

did you have basic urine testing done too? what did your provider feel was going on?

return monday for further exam again.

lots of "normal" bacteria that can cause issues including prostatitis

I don't know why they gave me penicillin.  I'm in Hong Kong - don't know if that is the usual treatment here.

My urine test said nothing grew in my urine - sorry for forgetting this detail.

I would think jock itch or something fungal as well but the pain while urinating seems to indicate an STD?

there is a difference between testing for std's and basic urine testing.

why did they give you penicillin?  it's not effective for almost anything that goes on in the genital area.

certainly return monday for further work up including a prostate exam.

My provider referred me to a skin doctor, he gave me a painkiller for the urination (which has now run out) and gave me a prescription for penicillin which I am on.

I have had a urine test, tested negative for Chlamydia and Gonorrhea.  The herpes test was a blood test.

I had a second exposure with this partner two days before the symptoms began, but I thought that would be too soon for symptoms to start- is that right?
