do I have herpes? [test results]

I got a blood test for stds, everything came up negative. and the doctor wrote a note saying "std shown negative"
but it says

HSV 1 IgG, Type Spec <0.91
negative 1.09

HSV 2 IgG, Type Spec <0.91
negative 1.09

what does this mean?

If you have had no symptoms during this time chances are these test results are accurate.  What you are refering to on your results is the range for which what is positive, negative and equivocal.

You will need to retest if you choose to 12 weeks past your last oral sex encounter to get an accurate test.  Though if you haven't had any symptoms no need to worry.

hello grace, I got tested because I been sick, and wanted to get tested for all the std's
it says positive > 1.09 though so I'm like borderline? they said they wanted me to come back to a later date and retest I think. the last time I had sex was 8 months ago, but I've had oral/gave oral 2 months back.

you are negative for hsv1 and hsv2 both.

why did you get tested?

how long prior to being tested had you last had sex?

sorry, it's not coming up right. the equivocal is 0.91 - 1.09 and it says positive > 1.09 and this is for both HSV1 and HSV2
