Ok I will talk to him about getting it done thanks for all your help and I hope you enjoy your weekend
but if your partner has hsv2, you could've potentially recently contracted it which is why getting them tested before you have the WB drawn is in your best interest to you don't have to potentially repeat the expensive wb later on. get your partner tested next!
thanks for taking the time to answer I know 1 week was early but we have only had with each other for 8 yrs now so I didn't think it would matter
I found the number to get the western blot sent to my house and a lab to draw the blood so I am crossing my fingers it will all turn out good
terri doesn't come to this forum.
at this point, get your regular partner to seek out type specific herpes igg blood testing. once you know their status, then you can figure out when you can seek out a herpes WB. testing 1 week post sex was far too early and you can't confirm a low positive until after 4 months post encounter. if your partner tests negative, you can seek out the WB at any time. hope that makes sense- just woke up from a nap...lol
Terri if you have the time could you look at my post and let me know what you think
My doctor never toke the time to explain any of this to me and just had the lady at the front desk to call me and she wasn't any help she just said I had it and the doctor probably would give me a different test I have been calling around trying to find a place to do the western blot with no luck found a place that would do a catpila IgG or the DNA test any help on what one I should take
Yearly exam but first time I think getting tested for herpes
And I think it had been around a week since I had had sex but I have been with the same person tor almost 8 years now
I have had no signs or anything that would make me think that I have it
how long prior to testing had you last had sex?
