HSV-2 igg inhibition interpretation-confused!

Please help! I received my results to HPV-2 igg inhibition test and it indicates the following-
HSV-2 igg inhibit,elisa
HSV-2 igg screening index    <0.90
inhibition interpretation-
the hsv-2 igg screening assay was repeated at focus dx, and the result was not positive (i.e,the index was <1.10); thus, the inhibition interpretation study result could not be determined.
% inhibition  or = 60 Positive

original HSV-2 igg test- 2.30

I have no symptoms and been with the same partners for over 5 yrs. I don't know what to believe! Please help.

no you can't sue quest since they are very open about the false positive issues with their testing.

it looks like they did it and said it was less than 90%.

if you need the peace of mind, by all means do the WB.  I know Terri warren doesn't really recommend the inhibition assay at all. it's unfortunate that quest has stopped offering the WB routinely and has went with the assay instead to make more money for itself :(

yes it was a routine screening, during my annual obgyn visit. My dr asked if i wanted a complete std testing and I said why not. Never would of thought, the results would be positive. Did my dr read the results incorrectly? The results clearly do not have a percent for the inhibition test. It only says the following
HSV 2 IGG HERPESELECT AB-   2.30 H
HSV-2 IGG SCREENING INDEX-   <90
INHIBITION INTERPRETATION-
the hsv-2 igg screening assay was repeated at focus dx, and the result was not positive (i.e,the index was <1.10); thus, the inhibition interpretation study result could not be determined.
% inhibition   or = 60 Positive

My dr read the screening index value and said it was positive. It was when I questioned the report that he decided to re-test me. Should I even bother doing the WB?

when they repeated your testing this time, they automatically did the inhibition assay even though your repeat hsv2 igg was completely negative.  I wouldn't bother with any more herpes testing at this point.

was this just a routine screening that you got tested?

No he has not.  Would you know why the results say "results not positive" when the index value is <90?
My dr rec. to re-do the test. I did the same test yesterday and should be receiving the results in 2 weeks. The WB isn't available in NYC. Should I get the biokit?
Thanks

the inhibition assay isn't always very helpful. we still recommend getting a herpes WB when you have a low positive.

has your partner been tested?
