HSV-II...constant tingling and itching

Hi everyone...glad I found this because I've been feeling quite alone recently in dealing with this.

I've been having tremendous trouble with my medication as of late. Up until recently I'd been on 500mg daily Valtrex for suppression therapy. Starting around November or December of last year I've noticed symptoms indicative of an outbreak (i.e. tingling or feeling like I'm being poked with a needle, swolen lymph nodes) but I never developed an outbreak. The tingling and lymph node pain continued for weeks until i went to the infectious disease doctor. He told me to take more Valtrex...which didn't help. Months have gone by still experiencing these symptoms and it's mind numbingly frustrating. About 2 weeks ago he prescribed me Famvir instead of Valtrex. Didn't do much initially but now it's been a little better and for the first time in months, I've had a few days where I didn't experience many symptoms. Today, however, some of those symptoms have started to resurface which is very disheartening.

Has anyone else experienced this.  Is this constant tingling/itching caused by the herpes?  The medication?  Something else?  Any suggestions would be most appreciated.  I have to make this go away.  It's so awful and difficult to live like this.

you are a male?

is this all related to your herpes? No it is not. at this point I'd follow up with a dermatologist to see if they think anything else is going on causing these symptoms. you might even want to consider stopping antivirals for a month or two and see if symptoms resolve too.
