Is it worth getting retested with IgG?

Two years ago I tested "equivocal" for HSV 1. It wasn't really a big deal at the time, since I was already in a long-term relationship and HSV 1 is so common, so I didn't get retested to see if the equivocal result changed. That relationship ended, and now I'm starting a new relationship, and would like a better answer. However, I'm frustrated that it seems like there are so many false positive and negative and “equivocal” possibilities that getting re-tested with the IgG isn’t actually useful. Is there any value to it?

Secondly, if I do have HSV-I, and it’s only oral, is it possible to get genital HSV-I (by giving him genital or oral and then him spreading it to my genitals)?

Hi, yes i would retest as it can be transmitted to someones penis or genitals from oral sex an if you have it oral you basicly immune to contracting it genital.
