HSV symtoms possibly or not?

9 weeks ago I had a 1 time encounter giving (tongue to clitoris only) and received unprotected oral sex in addition to having vaginal sex with a condom with a girl who later told me she was HSV1 positive, vaginally only. A few weeks later I developed a very dry, rough inner mouth that eventually turned to a burning, swelling, numbing sensation that lasted for weeks over entire inside of mouth. This was the entire inner mouth and gums and never my outer  lips. Burned like crazy when I brushed my teeth or ate spicy food. No blisters or ulcers occurred at this time. After several weeks it moved more to the font of my mouth where I would rapidly form 1-2 tiny red dot like bumps (broken vessels almost) that would quickly turn to very small cut like lesions and disappear within 24 hours or so. Never anything on outside of lips or mouth.  Both my Dr. & Dentist told me it is not Herpes despite several repeat visits. Now, within the last week I have had shooting pain in my genitals, testicals, penis, abdomen and pubic mound that aches and will not go away. Scrotum and underside of penis are red and sensitive but no blisters or ulcers. Urinating burns slightly but not too terribly bad. I have inspected myself to the point of exhaustion and do not see blisters, ulcers or sores. Is this indicative of HSV and in your opinion are these 2 related?  Thank you.

None of your symptoms sounds anything like herpes to me.  I think people get confused when the read that symptoms can be atypical, and I under stand that.  But you have had repeated visits to your doctor and dentist and have been reassured about your symptoms not being due to herpes.  A look in person is always better than an internet connection.

Have you ever been tested in the past to know if you have herpes or not, of either type, 1 or 2?  Have you ever in your life had a cold sore?

Terri you seem very insightful, I'm fascinated reading your threads. I'm sorry for interrupting this thread but I was diagnosed with vaginal foliculitis but I'm  a nightmare for the internet and worrying now because is it similair to herpes in appearance???I had a blister on my clitoris and so sore to urinate after aggressive oral sex with my partner. Also red sores on the inside lip of my vagina and outside with severe discharge coming from everywhere. There was also pain and swelling around my vagina Such pain with Infection basically that I felt started near my anus. I am prone to abcesses and boils and have been told not to wax any more as I have all hair removed. At the same time I was diagnosed within three days with a severe strep throat. I went to my My doctor and he it's foliculitis from waxing. He put me on klacid. 48 hours later I went back in a panic and he put me on flagyl. It all cleared within about 4 days. With my septic throat I had what looks like a cold sore on my lip and chin. My boyfriend gave me oral sex so I was wondering if that was how the folliculitis spread??? I'm very run down but have NEVER experienced this before down below. I also thought it was just from rough oral sex with him bcos he has facial hair n it got heavy so I got creams and rubbed them around my clitoris. The doc said I cud have spread the infection myself. But the pain was awful. I had a swollen lymph gland on my groin and the doctor said it was from the infection.  Not have I ever had a cold sore on my mouth but my doc says that's part of the infection from my throat. What should I do. Is it definately foliculitis? When he put me on Flagyl alongside the Klacid he said if it doesnt clear we will then do a Herpes check but my doctors words were " I do NOT believe or think this is Genital Herpes". It all cleared. I would really appreciate a response from a medical doctor/practitioner. How could folliculitis have spread to my clitoris if there are no hair follicles there????  Although I have heard it does. Also there was a lot of puss with no odour really. He said the symptoms were not that for herpes. Please help me I'm so upset. This was one month ago and I'm still worried.

It sounds like you are under a lot of stress.  When we feel stressed, sometimes we focus anxiety on physical symptoms.  But honestly, in this case, I seriously doubt that you have genital herpes.  If you develop any specific skin symptoms, like blisters or ulcers, check back in with your health care provider, OK?

Thank you for your reply Terri.  I've never been tested before for any STD.  I am recently divorced after 20+ years in a committed relationship & marriage and neither of us ever had any problems like this that I am aware of.  I've never been with anyone else sexually until this encounter except for my teenage years which were not terribly sexual. I've never had a cold sore before either.  I've been under an abnormal amount of stress lately with my divorce and the situations that lead to and still exist with that.
