HSV1 or shingles?

Hi, on Friday night, I washed my face with this medicated facial scrub. It stung a little, but I didn't think anything of it. Later that night, I got a headache, so I went to bed early. The next morning, I felt a tingle sensation on the side of my cheek. I looked in the mirror, and it was a cluster of bumps that looked like reddish blisters. They weren't painful at all, it just tingled in that area. I've never had a fever blister or cold sore in my life. I went to two different doctors. One said it was herpes, the other said it was contact dermatitis! The bumps scabbed over, but there was never any fluid coming out of them. I went back to the dermatologist, but because it started to heal, they couldn't tell what it was. She did inform me that it is possible to have a cold sore on the cheek. I'm starting to now think that it could have been shingles! It lasted for about a week. Any feedback you can provide (especially if you've had shingles) would be greatly appreciated!
