i will, and you think the result will be negative?
already said your symptoms don't sound like they are herpes related.
follow up on your testing for peace of mind if you need it.
I know you said I most likely didn't contract it bc of no symptoms; however, I do have oral hsv1 since a child and I heard having hsv1 can cause hsv2 to not have symptoms so it worries me. Thank you for your time
why are you still worrying so much about this?
I've read that hsv2 sometime won't show a symptom if you already have hsv1
My already hsv1 infection wouldn't stop hsv2 from actually showing an infection?
if you haven't had any obvious symptoms, not likely you contracted hsv2 orally. your symptoms don't really sound hsv2 related.
One more question Grace! Sorry to bug, just don't wanna make an entire new post. I know HSV2 orally is rare, but what about thorough giving oral sex to someone who has genital hsv2 during an outbreak but you couldn't see it bc the lights were off, only later did they tell you they were having an outbreak? What are the chances (percentage) of acquiring hsv2 orally? This happened to me, but I haven't had any sores on my mouth, other than what seemed like pimples (had white pus) and angular chelitis.
Thanks
depends on the test. we recommend waiting at least 12 wees for testing though really no difference between testing at 10 weeks or 12.
Also, how accurate is an hsv2 igg blood test at 10 weeks post encounter?
But from your expertise, this isn't herpes related?
http://www.ashastd.org/std-sti-works/Herpes/oral-herpes.html has terrific info on oral herpes for more reading.
Yes and I know I have hsv1 orally but I haven't gotten a cold sore since I was about 13, I'm now 22
these don't sound like herpes symptoms. prodromal symptoms are constant, not just brief here and there like you have experienced.
have you ever been tested for herpes?
