HSV-1 /2

Hi there, I got my test back today and here they are: Hsv1: 6.76 and HSV2: 1.29. Both IgG.  I am so worry that I actually have HSV2. I have not had any genital bumps or any common symptoms, I have been aware of cold sores on my upper lip since I was a child, but never genital.  Unfortunately, I was intimate with a friend 3-4 months. I was reading on the past blogs and i came across a discussion of False Positive.  What are the chances of this test to be a  False Positive test result?  On one blog someone posted a comment about a western blood test. What does it entails? Do I go back to my Dr.'s office and asking to draw blood?  Thanks

odds are your hsv2 is a false positive. you can confirm it with the herpes western blot test ( WB ).   If your doctor uses quest labs it's test #34534.
