I kissed a girl who is suspected to have HSV-1 on a Wednesday. On that following Thursday she developed a cold sore. She says she has been getting them since she was little but has never had a positive blood test for the virus. On Friday I had a fever, chills, sore throat and a stuffy/runny nose. I have felt tingling and itching sensations all over my top lip but more prevalent in one spot. Im not sure if my symptoms came from anxeity considering the term worried sick, which I was when I seen her or they are actual symptoms of HSV-1. What is the likelyhood that I have contracted HSV-1 (cold sores) from her?

They are slim considering the fact that you didn't kiss her while she was having an outbreak
