if you are only getting a + or - result on the blood test, worthwhile to pursue a confirmatory test like a WB or even a biokit hsv2 igg blood test. Hard to rule out false positives without numerical results.
this sounds like canker sores or even mouth trauma more than herpes. At this point to confirm for your own peace of mind, get a lesion culture within 48 hours of the appearance of lesions.
There was a single ulcer for a day until another showed....presenting more of a line...still inner right cheek...not close together. No pain or crusting associated. Possibly due to applying zinc oxide and taking Acyclovir.
Ive read that Zinc Oxide speeds healing....research the Internet...as for what I used its considered medical grade. You cant get it over the counter. I work in the medical field.
Im not sure what exact test was done. I called the clinic and the clinican wasnt sure of which one was used....she thinks it was the Herpes Select, but not sure and no values were given. She stated all the lab tells them is the test is negative or positive
Yes, I visited with my dentist, but by that time everything was healed...so I wasted my money going.
Im almost positive this is the case. The tingling and crawling around my mouth continues...now along with my tongue. My teeth are now all of a sudden sensitive....which they weren't before.
I understand you're not a doctor and everybody symptoms are different.
Its sad, but I believe it is the case. Im of the rare few. Sad!
herpes wouldn't show up as a single ulcer inside your cheek. That's more like consistent with canker sores which are different and not contagious.
herpes wouldn't cause frequent tingling in the mouth area like you describe either.
actually no, zinc oxide doesn't speed healing of herpes sores. It's aqueous zinc that was helpful and it's no available otc in the US.
what testing did you have done that was + for hsv2? if it was a blood test, can you please post the results so we can better help you?
have you seen your dentist with all of this?
grace
My blood test is recent...last month. His test may have been too soon. Ive accepted the results as I believe they are accurate.
HSV 2 oral may be rare, but it can happen. I think im another rare case. I also have this constant crawling/tingling sensation around my mouth every since the first ulcer showed up inside my inner cheek. No blister ever form....just the sensation.
Please take into consideration the application of zinc oxide which is proven to speed up healing.
Hi, nothing that you describe would suggest youve contracted herpes. Getting oral hsv2 is very rare and sores dont come an go in a day or 2.
I would advise you to have a blood test now. As a rule, 8 weeks post exposure would be a good indicator and 3 to 4 months would be conclusive.
