Headaches with Valtrex

Hi I have been taking Valtrex 500 mg every day for suppression of HSV1 for about a month and a half now.  I have been getting headaches in my temples a lot and honestly don't know if it is because of that.  I also am on birth control and have been for the past three years but did just chance from ortho tri cyclen lo to regular ortho tri cyclen, about three months ago.  Do you have any advice? I am in college and these headaches make it very hard to study.  Thank you!

People with genital HSV1 shed an average of 10 to15 days a year. Antivirals would probably halve this. That's is not a great gain for daily usage.

If your partner already has HSV1 then that is the best protection you can have against transmission.

No, it is for the suppression purposes only

I think you will end medical advice on this one.

Antiviral will often not be needed for HSV1 infections. Are you suffering frequent outbreaks, is the infection recent?
