Biokit testing DC?

Does anyone know of a testing site in dc that can do the Biokit assay rapid test?  Your help would be much appreciated.

my western blots results came back indeterminate after five and a half months.  I have no idea what to do.  I have done everything I can.  What is my next step?

your final tests you are still waiting on will tell you that for sure.

I know - it's been a long, confusing ordeal :(

It's just the way the test is done. It sometimes happens which is why confirming low positives is recommended.

1.)  First time IgG Hsv 2 I received a (.10) at (two months after exposure)

2.)  2nd test at four months after for hsv 2 ( 1.69) and Hsv 1 (.91)

3.)  3rd test at five months Hsv 2 (.20) and Hsv 1 (.10)
* These test all used herpeselect IgG testing.

4.)  Biokit and rapid hsv 1 and 2 testing Negative at five months and a week and a half.

5.)  Waiting on western Blot results.

What would explain the 1.69 result and then go to .20 for hsv 2.  I have researched your threads and I have not seen a 1.59 drop in hsv 2 igg antibodies.  I have seen much less.  When I got my blood drawn for the 1.69 herpeslect test I had to go back and do it again because they did not store my blood properly, should I call the lab and confirm those results in case of a mix up?

i'm having the same problem finding the rapid assay i'm from michigan and i called bio kit and they told me i would have to go to chicago figures i called a virologist at the michigan couny of community health in lansing michigan (i'm from detroit) and they told me no one in michigan( just about everywhere) uses any conformation testing SCARY! i think washington is a more advanced/knowglegable hsv city correctly diagnosing people using conformaiton tests (probally in the whole u.s. i'm begining to think lol) and have more options than where i'm from. if you have a negative bio kit then your negative it was made speciffically as conformation test (closest to having a western blot done) they made it to prove out false positives from the focus elissa w scores under 3.5 some people were even telling me under 3.0.(even in research/journal articles) she also told me not to compare test result number of same test because if you took the elissa test on two different days the flucationg numbers dont matter she told me in order to compare the 2 number results you have to have taken both tests on the same day (i guess if that makes sense since she knows the virology/testing of the disease learned somethin/alot new today lol) but i wouldnt pay for the western blot because more than likely it would be negative. but to correctly catch antibodies w the test they have to b done within 3 months and agin after that to make sure no antibodies are seroconvesing depending if you had sex or any new partners.(if not any new then there shouldnt be a re-test) i hope that helps i'm in the same boat but if you read my blogs i might have to trave to chicago which would be cheaper than having a western blot done. i just hope when i do the rapid assay test its negative so i forget about this horrible dream lol

So is it safe to say this is a false positive if I get a negative on the biokit, negative on the western blot, and 2 out of 3 herpeselect test come back negative?   How does it go from 1.69 to .20.  This whole thing doesn't make much sense but I guess i will have blind faith.

I'm guessing your WB will also be hsv2 negative.

So I have an update.  I could never get the biokit test done it became a logistical nightmare.  However, I took the herpeselect test again and sent off blood work for the western blot.  I just got my test results back again for the herpeselect test.  This would have been my third time taking it.  I am going back from the beginning to explain my latest results.

What is your professional opinion of these results?  Western blot will be back in two weeks.

It's the herpeshomepage.com site that has the doctor's list.  It's on the Left hand side, scroll down to where it says doctors.

I can't find the listing of doctors on the asha website.  Is there any chance you could give me that link.
Thank you so much

Unfortunately asha doesn't have a list of providers to recommend :( I'm actually their herpes board person over there ( I post under betsy there ) and I've talked to them about it but it's just not a service that they can provide at this point and time.  There is a doctor's list on the herpes homepage as well as one on the westover heights site but no guarantees with any of those either than that hopefully they are a little more herpes aware than some other folks are.

The frozen blood isn't a problem. That's just the best way to store it long term.

At this point I think a WB is the best thing.  Your regular doctor can send it off for you -  http://depts.washington.edu/rspvirus/herpes.htm has all the info they need.  You can even order the kit sent to your house and just have your local lab/clinic draw the blood and send it for you ( they will also charge a fee to do this for you so it's going to run you about $200 total until it's all said and done ).  The only other option is the quest inhibition assay - test #17170.  That's supposed to weed out the false positives.

Grace, I want to thank you and the doctors on this website who have helped me out on this subject.  I think this is a tremendous site.  I have been on the ahsa website and have found no doctors our centers that can help me figure this out as far as getting the proper testing.  I am from Washington DC one of the biggest cities in the United States with some of the best doctors in the country, however 3 doctors from some of the most expensive doctors to see and clinics have no answers or solutions to getting further testing.  They have no idea what is going on and I can't move forward.  Perhaps it would be a huge benefit to individuals to have some sort of listing of doctors or clinics who perform this test.  I have followed your instructions and still no solutions.  I work long hours and as a reward for my hard work I hope to get some kind of knowledgeable expertise or testing sites.  I have seen some of the best doctors in dc who offer nothing to help me.  I am lost and do not know what to do.  If there is a clinic in NYC or in southern fla it is not a problem.  Money is not an issue for someone who can't move on with life truly without knowing one's health.  Much thanks for you hard work and dedication to those who seek answers.

he can't seem to get it.  He has also frozen my blood for 3 weeks.  Will that change the validity of the test.  He might be able to get it next week.  I am really pissed off it is this hard to get this test.  You can't order one you have to get 50 when ordering.  Is there any place on the east coast that offers this test.
