Help with diagnos of HerpesII

Test results came back positive Herpes II. I've symptoms for years, but thought it was because of masturbation.
Since I rarely have outbreaks do I have to take medication? Also, over the years I have shared sodas with my kids. Is it possible to transmit herpes to them? and how can I prevent passing this to my kids?

Is there over the counter medication I can purchase for daily use for HSV 2?

Can you get the index value of your HSV 2 positive test result?  There are sometimes false positives on the antibody test (was your test an antibody or swab test?) and if the index value is below 3.5, it should be confirmed with a second test.  What kind of symptoms have you had in the past?  You don't need to take medication if you are not bothered by outbreaks, but if you have sex with someone who doesn't have herpes, daily medication will reduce the risk of you infecting someone else.

Almost all HSV 2 infection is genital.  You don't need to worry at all about infecting your children through normal family interactions.  HSV 2 is a sexually transmitted infection, and your only concern should be your sexual partners.
