Help..

Hi everyone. I'm new here. Recently I had done my blood and urine test for std. And I got my result and I have herpes type 2 in borderline which is 1.0

Negative = 1.1

So is it means that I have herpes type2 ?

Kind of depends on your history.

Could be a false positive.  Do you have HSV1?  Most of us do... that could trip it up, possibly.

Could be a new infection and your body is just now making antibodies which would explain the low #.  Do you have any symptoms which are worrying you?

Thanks for your response.
Yes, I did had oral sex, and after one week i found my penis had red dots, and then i went to clinic for the blood and urine test.

So my result come out with this:

Herpes Simplex Type 1 IgG  = 0.0
Herpes Simplex Type 2 IgG  = 1.0

Reference Range
Negative =  1.1 Index

So is it possible i have HSV 2 ? im so scare right now ... please help

Sorry i don't know why it cant show...
The reference range is : Negative 1.1

I think the test needs to be disregarded. It was way to early to have IgG antibodies detected from the episode and it is such a low value really.

Oral sex is not really a risk for HSV2.

Repeat type specific testing after 12 weeks.

Thanks so much for your response. So should I go for another test in 12 weeks later and it will be more accurate ? And yet, I'm not sure whether it is just a normal infection to me ? Because after 2 days my red dots had disappeared after I applied aciclovir.

Yes the test at 12 weeks will be conclusive regarding this exposure. If you gave another borderline you may need to consider a Westernblot test.

Unless the red dots had small blister clusters inside and welted and scabbed, then they could be something else. Does the topical cream have other components to it like zinc? I find the creams good for a number of spots other than herpes.

Thanks so much for your response again.

I only had 4 red dots, 2 days later i applied the aciclovir cream B.P, then my red dots became blisters. I have accidentally burst the blister while bathing and it just recovered. Is this consider herpes ? And the cream doesn't contains zinc.

Red dots that form into blisters is very suspicious to me and could indicate herpes. I would have the dots/lesions swabbed for HSV to see if those blisters are in fact herpes.

When it doubt, swabs usually are the best way to find the virus when active lesions are present. Your encounter, if indeed herpes, would seem to lean on a hsv1 infection since you had oral. It's rare for someone to have hsv2 in the mouth.

I'd follow up with your doctor and get those lesions swabbed.
