Herperic Whitlow

I was diagnosed with herpetic whitlow. The doctor ran labs and it returned positive for HSV2. I have only ever had symptoms on one finger. My question is can I transmit the virus by practicing unprotected sex even though there are no sores on my genitals?

no way to know if you also have it genitally unless you get symptoms. if you have a regular partner, they should get a type specific herpes igg blood test done.

if the only contact you've had recently is hand to genital contact with a new partner then you might not have it genitally.
