Herpes, Lyme's, prostatitis? I'm lost

It has been 7 weeks since the time I thought I may have contracted herpes from a sexual encounter.

Timeline:
0-3 days after what I thought was exposure I had nausea nearly every day upon waking for 10 days.  No fever, but a headache and some body pains.  Checked my penis area for anything and saw what I thought was a little abnormality on the penis after 5 days.  No pain or itching on legion.  Very tiny bump.

At the dermatologist he thought I may have a herpes legion, he tested it twice and it came back negative twice.  There was no pain on the legion and I have never felt a painful sore or seen a visible sore.  He now does not believe it was herpes.

2 weeks after what I thought was an exposure I had some swelling on my neck.  Went into a Dr. and they did a complete blood test and my ESR was 0.  And that was at about the time where my symptoms got the worst.  I had a general soreness around the genitals and in the testicles mainly and maybe a little itching too.

They found out I had Lyme Disease- BUT, I have had mainly these genital symptoms and only noted after having sex with this girl.  I was tested two weeks after exposure for all STDs and was negative for HSV 1 and HSV 2 as well as all other STDs.  I know that isn't enough time for antibodies to form.

Now after 7 weeks since exposure and roughly two weeks of Doxyclycline I still get a lot of tingling in the testicles.  Never a sore of any kind and in general for the last 7 weeks my genital area is more sensitive than normal.  Masturbation is rare and infrequent and I can often feel more soreness in my testicles after that happens.

Could I have Herpes, is this probably just the Lymes and paranoia or could it be prostatitis.  There is certainly a lot of tingling going on down there.  And I have been having these symptoms fairly consistently for the last 7 weeks since what I thought may be an exposure.

I'm in the same boat as you.  I had sex with a girl and had a tingling sensation in my urethra about a week later, but I had protected sex so I didn't know what to think.  I went to see a doc and they prescribed doxycycline which made it go away for about two weeks. This was almost six months ago. I have been in and out of the doc with unusual symptoms for which I cannot pinpoint a disease (testicular pain, leg pain, joint pain, abdominal pain, but no fever ever and headaches few and far between). I live in Wisconsin and am concerned this could be lymes disease as it is more common here.  Did medication for limes disease work for you? Do you think your testicular pain was a function of lymes disease? I also am concerned re: herpes although never had an outbreak, but have had nerve symptoms which can also be affected by lymes disease. My doc doesn't know what to think and I feel stranded on an island of confusion as my body is riddled with pain.

I would say that your symptoms are not consistent with herpes.  Herpes symptoms do not occur constantly, as your does.  They are usually intermittent.  It would not cause testicular pain, and masturbation or ejaculation would not make herpes symptoms worse.

Have you considered asking the girl to get tested? That might be the easier/quickest way to sort this out.

If you have testing, you should get IgG only, and it is best to wait 12-16 weeks after the exposure.

You've been properly treated for any bacterial infection with the doxycycline.
