Herpes 2 testing

Hi,

I had sex with many sex workers but always with condom protected vaginal sex.. I have cold sores(HSV-1) in mouth.

My last sexual exposure was on 04-July-2011.

Just 1 week before sexual exposure, I had finished taking Famciclovir 250mg for HSV-1 outbreak. And it cured.

After 123 days(4 months) from last risky sexual exposure and 130 days from FAMCICLOVIR completion, I took HSV2(IGM and IGG) test and it turned out negative. I did not got any symptoms on genital area.

Can I consider this as confirmatory for HSV-2 in my body?
Should I need to go for more test? if so when to take the test? It is 4 months now completed from risk.

I had been given many and heavy antibiotics after 3 days from last sexual exposure including benzathime pencilin injection.

Forgot to add I just got weak postive HCV IGM and negative HCV RNA qual results today.

With all the factors being said above, will it impact HSV-2 test, if not can I take this as confirmatory and consider not infected?

Please advise.

Regards,
M

the famvir you took makes no difference.

no test is ever 100%. really no reason for more testing though.

I hope you considered FAMICLOVIR last does I took 130 days before testing HSV-2.

So you are advising me that I can take this result confirmatory(1005%) and I am not infected with HSV-2. Isn't it?

Thanks Grace. I waited for 4 months to tests coz i had read your earlier posts to wait for 4 months before antibody blood test.

So you are advising me that I can take this result confirmatory(1005%) and I am not infected with HSV-2. Isn't it?

you've had no genital symptoms and you have protected sex. a negative hsv2 igg 4 months after the last time you had sex is fine. no need for additional herpes testing at this point.
