Herpes Simplex 1&2

I am confused. Is there any way possible you can contract herpes simplex 2 from oral sex. I was told by a nurse that if someone has an outbreak on their mouth and they perform oral sex, you can contract simplex 2 from this. That really left me confused. Please if anyone knows the aswer to this respond.

To clarify though, you CAN get genital herpes from someone who has oral herpes. It would be HSV1, not HSV2.

Yes you can but it is very rare. Hsv2 in general for oral cases is rare and hardly sheds. Your odds of getting it from an oral encounter would be extremely bad luck.
