You can certainly be tested for herpes, but I still think it sounds very much like a prostate problem. Look up prostatitis symptoms on the internet for more ideas. And go to a health care provider!

You are at the point some of us want to be at - the 3-4 month mark. Your best bet to finally know is to go get tested. Get an IgG test, which includes Elisa, HerpeSelect, ImmunoBlot, or Western Blot. HHH and Terri both recommend the Western Blot, but the others should also be pretty reliable, especially 3-4 months post exposure. Do NOT get any sort of IgM testing.
Sorry one other thing as well, is it common to have constant tingling in the scrotal area with out blisters where the tingling is occurring? I have it pretty much every day for the past 3-4 months, or could this an issue with my prostate?
Thanks Again, sorry for the additional post.
Hi Terri,
Thank you for your prompt reply I have been without internet for a week so hence why it has taken so long for me to get back to you.
I have never had any problems with my prostate, I'm 44 years old. I have been expericing pain, burning and tingling along with my urinary issue. Right now it as I sit and write this email my bottom around my anus is throbing and feels very hot, almost like a burning feeling. I'm quite concerned about my uninary problems as one of the symptoms of herpes is "urinary problems" what kind of urinary problems in males are typical with herpes? Also I have the blotches when I strain, this is very worrisome as they are in the same spot and I have read that Herpes come back in the spot all the time usually. Have you ever heard of males having blotches not blisters?
it's very weird as it's almost like the skin is raised when it happens. Also I get a bit of discharge once and awhile out of penis, it is usually a clear sticky substance not alot just a little bit, I have read that discharge is a symptom of herpes as well, what kind of discharge do males usually get with Herpes? is white, milky or clear? and what sort of frequency does it usually occur. I'm quite concerned, if you could please answer my questions it would be greatly appreciated.
Regards
This sounds much more like a prostate problem, perhaps prostatitis, to me than HSV 1. Have you ever had issues with your prostate? Have you recently had a prostate exam? May I ask your age? The symptoms that you describe are NOT typical in any way of HSV 1 genital infection. I would strongly encourage you to contact your regular health care provider or a urology office to make an appointment for an evaluation.
