Herpes Transmission Via Water

I have a question regarding herpes transmission via water.
A) I have read that chlorine kills the herpes virus in swimming pools.  What are the chances of acquiringherpes by swimming in a lake...or in the ocean?
B) I have also read that the virus can gain access to the body through breaks in the skin.  What if someone were to have a fresh cut (ie: on the hand or foot) and go swimming. Could the virus be contracted through the fresh wound via water?

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks

the virus doesn't swim thru the water to infect others.  Being in a pool is not a risk for transmission.

Ok.  So even if someone was having an outbreak, herpes can't be transmitted to any part of the body via water.  I am assuming this is because water is not a proper mode of transmission for the virus?

If you're having sex in a swimming pool, lake, ocean, etc... then they're would still be a risk. Otherwise, no... Herpes is transmitted thru direct skin to skin contact.
