Herpes Vs. Yeast Infection

I havent had sex in a year and a half. 11 days ago I had sex. He also did oral(I did not). Yesterday(10 days after) I noticed my vagina to be irritated and white cottage cheese. Ive been really stressed out too lately. Ive had a yeast infection once before, and it also involved a canker sore right below the clitoris.(sp?) I have pus on one of my lymph nodes in my throat and Im wondering: Can stress cause a weak immune system and then into a yeast infection affecting my lymph nodes, vaginal area? Or is it herpes?

you have get some humdingers of yeast infections. I've already seen people with such severe fungal infections that they end up with scarring - don't discount what yeast can do!

following up on this is the best course of action for peace of mind. also don't hesitate to go back again in a month for retesting for yeast and bacterial infections vaginally since sometimes they can be so hard to get rid of, especially in the hot summer heat.

glad if nothing else, you learned more about herpes :)  It's incredibly common and something to be educated on, not scared of!

Ill be repeating the test just to be sure. I am not a hypochondriac(sp) but I am when I notice a difference in my body. Its a coincedence that I have an infection in my throat and a yeast infection-unless all of it is a yeast infection.
The two days Ive spent incredibly stressed out about this has taught me a major lesson. People with herpes or an STD arent "dirty". It is sad that I see so many forums telling people how dirty and damaged they are. Because something bad happened to them. If you have an STD, please dont look at it that way, because you will ALWAYS be YOU and YOU will always make a difference. And there are people out there that will love you for who you are. I know if I met someone and really liked them and they told me they had herpes, Im not going to cringe and run for the hills. Because I walked in their shoes.(if only but two days)

My gyno tested me for all of the above-and she kept reiterating the fact that its not herpes and its a bad yeast infection. I mean...I have been looking everything up non stop for 2 days. I have bad sinuses so thats why the lymph node is swollen with pus. The irritation that is razor burn she pointed out doesnt look at all like herpes and it got irritated when my yeast infection occured. I kept asking to the point where she looked me straight in the eyes and said "TRUST ME, I've been doing this for 16 years and I've seen plenty of herpes and THAT is not herpes!" but still the swab test will know for sure ya know? I just am irritated that everything on the internet describes herbes perfectly but is kind of vague about yeast infections. Theyre similar of course but they need to focus on the differences in major pain vs. itching and irritation.

going to be seen is the best course of action. get properly tested for yeast and bacterial infections vaginally.

was this unprotected sex you recently had? if so, also test for chlamydia, gonorrhea and trich. you can follow up with syphilis testing anytime after 6 weeks post encounter, herpes, hiv and hepatitis testing after 3 months to cover all your bases.

if you've never been tested for herpes before, asking for a type specific herpes igg blood test now and then repeating it later too is never a bad idea to know your status.
