Herpes after oral sex? Please help!

Hi, similar to many others I've been driving myself crazy thinking I may have contracted herpes.

Exactly 4 weeks I received unprotected oral sex from a female. The oral contact was only with my testicles, her mouth did not touch my shaft. Around 48 hours later I started to feel a tingling sensation around my testicles which made me very worried. I also had a headache, lost my appetite, felt nauseas, and had a burning sensation on my top lip. Although I wonder whether this is a result of anxiety.

The tingling has pretty much stopped now, but it continued for over 3 weeks. It would come and go throughout the day, and may last around 5 seconds. If it occurred while sitting, shifting my weight would sometimes make it stop.

Also, the day that the tingling stopped I started to feel pain in my groin and legs and also had a bit of diarrhoea. What the hell is wrong with me!

If anyone out there could provide some advice, I would be much appreciated.

Those are not symptoms of a recently acquired infection. Most often its a fever and body aches that last a few days.

Hi all

Just bumping this as I would really appreciate some further advice.

The tingling sensation I was previously having around my testicles has pretty much stooped. However, I have pain in my groin. It's worse on the right side and stretches down my thigh. I also have some lower back pain.

The pain isn't severe at all, but definitely noticeable. I've been very tense and anxious lately so I guess the pain could be from that. But aren't these also early onset, or mild, symptoms of a herpes outbreak?

It's been over 5 weeks since the potential exposure (oral sex with unprotected contact on my testicles). I think I'll go insane if I have to wait another 7 weeks until I'm tested.

Any advice is much appreciated.

Thanks for the advice!

The tingling has definitely stopped now, however I'm continuing to have some discomfort in my groin area.

It's approaching 6 weeks soon so I may get a blood test. At this point, would a blood test provide a reasonable indication of whether I'm infected?

Could it also be possible that I contracted herpes from a long time ago, and it's only emerging now? I just really feel like I'm about to break out with something.

Hi and welcome. Does this appear as a herpes outbreak? No it does not. Tingling is most often associated with those who already have herpes and have had an outbreak and is a sign of a pending one but should not last more than a few days before a sore develops. Also the area is not common but more the shaft or pubic mound area. Is it possible to contract herpes from this affair? Yes. Is it likely you did? No.
