Herpes around anus?

I went a couple days ago to the clinic after an extremely painful bowel movement. After a hurried check the doctor told me he was pretty sure he knew what it was and asked if I have unprotected sex with strangers and anal sex...both of which are definite no's. I have been with the same guy for over 1 year and we have both been faithful. He then said he thought it was herpes but my answers seemed to make him doubt himself enough he wasn't even going to test me till I asked to be sure. I have several tiny bumps just around the anal area and cuts including one very large one almost two inches in length now. From what I can see (and thats not much) I'm very swollen and BMs are extremely difficult and painful. I got a wax about 1 week ago and thought this might be some type of infection or irritation. I also have interstitial cystitis (taking Elmiron) and had a bad spell about 6 days ago that kept me in incontenience protection for 3 days that I thought may have aggravated the skin. Another side note regarding history, 2 weeks ago I was diagnosed for a bladder infection which I'm taking amoxicillin for and in March I developed a rash all over my torso that was extremely itchy (doctor didn't figure it out and was too busy too see me again) and for the most part went away two weeks ago (I still have so spots on my shoulders and neck) and during the time period of the rash I had blood and mucous on my stool. As you can tell, lately I've been a lightning rod for health issues. I'm in constant pain and don't know what I can do to relieve it as I'm even scared to take tylenol because I'm scared of becoming constipated. I'm also very stressed about the possibilty of having herpes. How likely is it that I would get herpes only around my anus without anal sex or a new partner? Wouldn't it be around my vagina if anything? If not likely, what else is probable?

There is a condition similar to IBS it's called Diverticulitis or Diverticular Disease and can cause stools to be hard and difficult to pass there is usually mucus and sometimes blood as well with this condition you need to be sure that any blood you see in your stools is fresh ( bright red) and not old blood ( dark in color ) the fresh blood is often from tears in the skin due to difficult bowel movements you may also have a haemorroid or fissure around your anal region that will certainly bleed of your pressing down hard all the time,I would be inclined to think your problems are arising from a bowel problem rather than Herpes, you need to tell your Doctor the full extent of this and how long it's been going on, in the meantime up your fibre intake and see if that helps any towards making your bowel movements easier all that pressure will surely cause anal issues, I would be a bit concerend about the all over rash also so be sure to inform your Doctor about all these things so that he has a full history of whats been going on ..... whatever it is it needs further investigation and follow up you have had too many things going on one after the other to ignore.
I personally don't think it's anything to do with Herpes I think your problems are stemming from the bowel which in turn can cause bladder and urinary infections if bacteria gets into the urethra .....
You definately need a full medical work up to find out exactly whats causing all this ....

A little sidenote, my boyfriend was tested for everything about 3 months ago during a hospital admission and he tested negatively. We have unprotected sex so if I had it laying dormant in me after 1 year of unprotected sex with each other wouldn't he be infected by then?

I'm not too sure it is herpes because if it was you will have a big outbreak first then get one or two sores after the first outbreak.  Herpes type 2 will be mostly around the vagina but it can sometime go near the anus without having anal sex.  I been living with it for over 6 years now and never got it there but it can go to the anus area.  I think you see the doctor again and tell them about the blood in the stool because it might be something else. Hope this help you out a bit.
