Hello,
I recently had protected vaginal sex (10 days ago) with a guy I've known for over 2 years. He stated to me on many occasions that he gets tested every 6 months. However, I made him aware that regular STD panels do not normally screen for herpes. He stated to me he is sure he gets tested for herpes because the office "goes down the list" when he calls to obtain results. Not quite sure if he was just saying that to put me at ease or if it is actually true. He stated his last test was two months ago, but I am not sure how many women he has been with since then.
I test regularly HSV 1 & HSV 2 negative. I guess my question is what is the risk from one protected sexual encounter. I had shaved maybe 4 hours prior to the sex,& had a scrape on my buttcheek. I read herpes can enter through cuts in the body. I am very concerned what my risks are if he indeed never tested and potentionally has the virus.
