Herpes or Syphilis

In Sep 2007, I tested positive for Syphilis. I was given 2 shots of penicilin. Periodically, maybe twice a year, I would still get the same lesions I had with the syphilis attack. My initial healthcare provider told me that I would have the disease for life even though I was treated. This week, I tested positive for hepes (through bloodwork)..I have not had heterosexual intercourse since the incident in 2007, and I was in a monogomous relationship with my female partner for the last 3 years. What are the chances of the positive herpes test being from the syphilis antibodies? Or was I misdiagnosed in 2007? And if not a misdiagnosis, why wasn't the herpes positive in 2007?

so originally it was a visual diagnosis of syphilis along with a swab of your symptoms that came back as + for syphilis?

call and ask what the exact numeric results of your blood test were - thanks!

The original test for syphilis was a visual swab test. If I remember correctly. And I wasn't given a "number" with the herpes test.

how were you originally tested for syphilis? do you recall?  was it just a visual diagnosis or did you have testing of the open sores or blood testing?

I can best help you with your herpes blood test results if you get the results to post here - e.g. hsv1 igg 4.9 and hsv2 igg 4.3 or whatever they are. do you know if herpes testing was a part of the testing you had when you were diagnosed as having syphilis?
