If either of your parents has HSV1, oral cold sores, then chances are you were infected in your youth. There are some indications here that this could be a genital HSV1 infection.
I'd suggest thought that it is little more than 50/50. Has your partner been tested for HSV1?
Yes he has been tested for HSV-1 and came out positive. We were noted that mostly everyone will come out positive for HSV-1 since it's very common fever blisters. I'm also aware that HSV-1 can be transmitted by mouth to genital so that's the probability. It just seemed strange since we have only performed oral ONLY on one another and hadn't had any other partners before and since he didn't have any blisters on his mouth. He got a sore on his gum days after my breakout.
Your outbreak has nothing to do with an outbreak occurring with your partner. The gum lesion is actually most likely not a herpes lesion in people with an established infection.
How soon after the outbreak did you test positive for HSV1? Have you ever had oral cold sores?
I got tested three weeks after. And I honestly can't remember the last time I got one or if I got one for that matter.
I'm having a similar issue. Monday night I had casual "normal" unprotected intercourse with my boyfriend of a little over a year. Afterwards my vagina felt swollen and irritated. I have endometriosis so sometimes painful sex isn't out of the ordinary for me. Also, my birth control pills do not aid in my self lube all the time. So I thought maybe I wasn't wet enough. The next night, when we started to have sex again, it was far too painful and I made him stop. I felt like his penis was a knife (painful to say the least). So we immediately stopped, I rinsed off and fell asleep. Wednesday came and I could barely walk. And urinating was a nightmare! I knew something was wrong... So after my shower I had my boyfriend check me out down there while I held a mirror to see for myself as well. That night it looked very irritated at the base of my vagina, it was red and swollen. I felt a bump and we checked it out, it was flesh colored and was more of a lump. I still just chalked it up to irritation after sex. Well the pain never went away, in fact it got worse. What was one bump Wednesday night turned into three by Friday morning. My discharge had increased and it was odorless. I headed straight to the doctors for him to diagnose me with herpes by just looking at it. I'm in total disbelief. I have practiced safe sex from day one, with the exception of my current boyfriend. He has never had an outbreak and no weird symptoms that even hint that he had any STDs. I'm aware that it could be dormant in most people but how come I broke out so fast after the painful sex? And to be honest my bumps don't look like those I've seen on the Internet. They are only on the tear that occurred on Monday night and no place else. I find out the culture results on Tuesday and I'm just devastated and in total shock. Is there any chance it's not herpes?
