I can comment on the 4 weeks test, i can only say that 8 weeks is a good indicator. Most doctors would say the numbers are meanless but ive been led to believe that low numbers infer a recent infection. The only real relationship with hsv1 and hsv2 is that a high hsv1 number could cause a false positive for hsv2 as does cross react.
Quick question would the positive hsv1 be likely a new infection or ild infection? If new could this delay hsv2 antibodies?
This weekend will be 10 weeks think I will retest again then and hopefully will be negative still
only if you have a regular partner
Would you recommend testing at 10/12 weeks?
Also is the fact the hsv2 results not rising in 4 weeks positive? As in they are not equivocal or anywhere near yet
No one has posted about this so i dont have any information but 8 weeks is good indicator for the average person.
Have you heard of people testing positive for hsv2 after being negative at 8 weeks?
Your negative for hsv2 and 8 weeks is a good indicator.
Think the doctor meant that there was igm detected in the blood
What do you mean by having two tests for hsv1 being positive is a bit concerning? It is hsv2 I am worried about really
This statement makes no sense, either a person is infected or they are not.
Having 2 tests that show a postive for hsv1 would be a bit concerning. Retest at the 3 month mark.
Also I had a blood test (not iGG specific) 3 weeks after potential exposure and it indicated past infection to HSV but no current infection.
