Herpes or not

I am 28 year old male. Recently a massuer gave me a handjob. Two days after that i had red blisters on my penis head and foreskin and blood also came. My primary physician ordered blood tests and everything came as negative and he said it might be a yeast type of infection. But when i went to another doctor after couple days since the ulcers are spreading on penis head and getting worse, the other doctor said it is herpes by just looking at it and did not do any tests and prescribed valtrex for 7 days. I took it for 7 days and all the blisters healed on penis head, but a new rash came on the outer skin of penis head which is burning a lot. Skin also turned little red and sore.

I tested for herpes twice and they came back as negative, but i did them in less than 10 days after my exposure.

Do you think this is herpes? Can herpes transmit with a handjob?

we recommend waiting a full 3 months before getting tested. also the CDC recommends that igm herpes testing not be drawn. encourage your provider to update their herpes testing knowledge so that they are doing their best for their patients and not wasting money needlessly for them.

I'd go to the dermatologist if you still have symptoms then.

Thanks Grace for the response. I visited my primary doctor again and he said since he does not see blisters now, he still thinks it is yeast infection and the rash that i have now(it is healing now) also looks like a fungal infection and asked me to use "Ciclopirox Olamine Topical cream" for another 10 days and get the blood test IGg and IGM (AB) for Herpes done after  that since it will be 6 weeks after outbreak and antibodies should have developed by then if there is an infection.

I took an appointment with a dermatologist for 27th. should i postpone the appointment to see the result of blood test after 2 weeks (or) shall i go ahead and see him. Please suggest.

you wouldn't have contracted herpes from a hand job.

visual diagnosis of herpes isn't adequate. the provider who visually diagnosed you and gave you valtrex erred by not doing a lesion culture and typing on your symptoms before prescribing you medication.

at this point, you need to be seen and get your new symptoms seen again. if they suspect herpes, a lesion culture should be done.

Mike, I am certainly not a MD but really don't believe you can get herpes from a handjob and if your primary allready tested you I wouldn't worry about herpes but see him again and focus on something else if you still have problems?
