I have been worried about having herpes for about 4 years now, and I have been to numerous doctors, most of which have told me it's fine and one who thought I had warts.
Lately, every 3-4 weeks I get a bump. Usually it's one on it's own and most of the time I pop it and it has white puss in it. It has only once been in a non-hair area and that was slightly painful when I touched it, but that is the only one that has caused me any pain. Very very rarely do they ever have clear fluid (maybe 1-3 times in 4 years) and only once has it ever looked slightly like a blister.
A couple of the bumps lasted about a year and were removed with dry ice and one has lasted about 3 years due to what the doctor thinks is keloid scarring.
I do shave regularly. I also occasionally get rashes but they are usually gone within 1 day, and that often occurs after wearing bathers or having my period.
My ex-boyfriend was tested for herpes and the results came back negative, after having unprotected sex with him for a year and a half.
About a month ago I went to the doctors and was told that she doesn't think it's necessary for me to be tested based on what I have told her, only for my peace of mind but I would rather avoid the test if possible.
Does this sound like herpes?
