Herpes or yeast?

4 days ago, my vagina began to itch. I took yeast infection pill and applied cream. Yesterday I noticed that I have what seems like a paper cut on my labia. Painful to touch and very itchy. It hurt to pee only yesterday but not today. I have never been tested for herpes. Could this be herpes? I also was on biaxin for broncitis for 10 days. Could it just be a bad yeast? I don't have unusual dischange. I also got my period today. Which is why I think it's herpes. What looks like two small red pimple bumps when I open my vaginal lips on either side. Ugh I can't deal with this. Plz help. The bumps are not painful.

glad they did the swab. visual diagnosis only is woefully  inadequate!

My doctor took one look and said its 100% herpes. She said she didnt even need to do a swab but I wanted one to be sure. I'm pretty much devestated as this is going to effect my sex life.

I know it's hard to wait but being seen tomorrow will give you much better answers.

also just because you have been using the same pads forever doesn't mean they haven't changed ingredients. with the economy, almost everything has changed to save money without raising the price for the consumer :(

So I have a dr app tomorrow. I just noticed tonight that the cuts on my labia look bloody and sore. I also noticed a white discharge in the depth of my labia fold(sorry for graphics) I have only been using Unscented dove soap so I would not cause irritation. Is this yeast discharge? Is it puss from the cuts? I guess I will find out tomorrow. Just a little freaked out.

Yes I will. I have an appointment tomorrow. I'm praying that it is only a bad yeast or maybe an infection from the cut on my labia that caused red bumps. The bumps do not look like razor burn or Ingrowns because they are on my labia and near my clitoris. Where I do not have hair. The pads that I use I don't think had anything to do with the cut since I have been using the same ones for every period. The red bumps look like pimples. The one on the inside of my vagina opening looks like an open sore. That is that concerns me.

If you're concerned about herpes then get a HSV Type Specific blood test.

I posted a question about paper cut-like abrasions on my labia and surrounding area.

I have HSV1 in the genital area.

The paper cut-like abrasions were not herpes however. They were caused my the menstrual pads that I wear. The pads cause friction along with the moisture and cause the cuts that itch and burn.

This is one possible explanation for your similar sounding cuts.

Or it could be yeast infection. I wouldn't recommend self treating for yeast using a cream. Try yogurt first, keeping the area clean and dry. When possible, at home, go sans panties  and let the vagina get some air.

If you shave, red bumps may also be ingrown hairs.

I just assumed it was yeast. I self treated it with drugstore yeast pill. The paper cut on my labia is painful and itchy and I have noticed little red bumps around it. I will go to a hassle free clinic ASAP

did you get properly tested for yeast or just assume it was yeast going on and self treat?

you should be seen and get a proper exam as well as urine testing too since you have pain with urination.  if they think this is herpes, they can do a lesion culture and typing of symptoms.
