Herpes prevention remedy

This may sound like a silly question.  I was engaging in oral sex with a long time aquaintance and noticed a bump in her inner labia with my tounge. I immeadately pulled back, flashed a light and asked her what it was. She stated that she had herpes but it's been dormant for years. I immeadiately rushed and gagrled with peroxide, and doused my tounge, lips and mouth with anti-fungal liquid. Was my attempt futile? And are you pretty much gauranteed to have contracted herpes by having an encounter with someone who us having an outbreak?

At this point, unless you get any obvious symptoms orally within the next several weeks, not really something to follow up on .

Quite honestly I was just trying to kill any living organism that may have been on, in or around my mouth.  She stated that she knew that she had genital herpes.  I just panicked.

Aside from graces comment, how inconsiderate it was to do that! A flashlight?? Gargling with peroxide??

Herpes is not the plague, and you yourself may have it already, as more than half of the adult population has oral herpes (even if you've never had symptoms...)

Odds are that this wasn't due to herpes. If she's had it for awhile, she can recognize the signs of recurrences most likely.

Why would you use an antifungal for a virus anyways?
