Tested positive for hsv2. Having multiple systems wondering if they are related.

Tested positive for hsv2 by blood test. I have multiple symptoms and they last for months at a time. From my understanding hsv2 only lasts a few weeks. The crazy thing is I never knew I hd it until a partner asked me if I had anything and that made me decide to go get checked out. After finding out I believe I had a mental trip because every little pain or hurt I became really anxious. I got tested by blood test and came back negative for everything except for hsv2. In the beginning I had genital pain and discomfort...since the pain had subsided. It biw that I know about it I am noticing that I get what appears to be outbreaks in my thighs...I don't get the huge crazy ones just simply a red rash type of deal with really dry skin in the middle and one or two little pimples...recently I got the same rash behind my right leg but it's almost a perfect circle and dryband flaky in center...no blisters. Thought it was ringworm and ringworm cream I've been using has made it fade. However both locations last months not days or weeks. Is it normal to get round red circles? That last 2-3 months at a time? I mean I know your always contagious but if I attempt to have sex I want to be as outbreak free as I possibly can. It just strikes me as odd they linger around so long? I also heard hsv2 outbreaks should hurt but I never have any pain just annoying blotch s thatbalst a long time...any advice please anyone? Doctors or nurses?

The odds are very low. A one time unprotected exposure with a known positive partner has about 1 in a 1000 chance of spreading the virus

Your GP is fine. I've read were the blame for odd symptoms are blamed on herpes but have not witnessed it. I think it's important for your peace of mind to figure this out and swabbing the area is the next logical step. I wish you all the best with this and hope the swab provides answers for you.

I appreciate that...it scared me st first when I was diagnosed...scared me even more when these random symptoms showed up. No pain just blemishes etc...circular red and dry skin taking months to go away...a few months back I got the same blemishes in thight right side then behind my leg on right side then one on my left thigh and even another time in my arm pit! Since then I've only gotten the behind the right leg and on inner right thigh. Like I said a few months back I wanna say December I got the inner thigh thing and it lasted well into janurary...that cleared up then returned about two-three weeks later...that second one is still here...which leads me to believe that it isn't hsv2 related because it's here too long....I even quit drinking alcohol and smoking and have been trying to eat healthier. What's even more weird is they last months and they don't fully disappear like hsv2 is suppose to...no blisters. Red blotch stays on skin forever and disappears months later no matter what creams I use and no matter what meds I use...I can't believe I got this crap. For the rest of my life....my ex gave it to me when she cheated on me. We were together 8 years and she cheated and got pregnant by another man when we were still together and til this day she Denys having it....how can she go on living like nothing? I'm single and have been for awhile and every time I get close to someone I back off because I'm scared to tell them. I met a wonderful girl who is disease free but I can't progress because I don't know how to tell her and mentally it's killing me.
Let me ask you this...what are the odds of transmission from one or two unprotected encounters? No outbreak just unprotected sex. I'm asking because I've read so many conflicting things and many doctors are not educated on it plus it's embarrassing to talk about.

Ok. When you get the circle areas of irritation you can have the area swabbed and pcr tested to see if these are indeed outbreaks. If they are then this is unusual.

Okay. Should I go to a primary or a dermitogist?
So you've never heard of gsv2 having outbreaks like I described? I know you can experience it in boxer short region but I imagined outbreaks to look a lot different
Hsv2

This doesn't sound hsv related. What test did you get a positive on? Igg or igm? What was the numeric value of the positive test?
Symptoms that you describe and the length of time would not be typical of hsv at all.
I agree that the genital focus after testing positive can really mess with your head. If you don't know the info I asked for please see if you can get it. It's very important as hsv tests can be unreliable.

Hsv-2 blood test. From what I remember numerical was 5.00 on one test and the other was just rated high positive. Mentally it broke me down and I had to adjust on how to live with it. I always get the same spot on my right thigh inner thigh about 4-5" away from genital region. It starts out as a red blotch or circle...gets dry and flaky in center. Occasionally I will get two small pimples in center but most of the time just dark red. The new sore I get is behind my right leg perfect circle and gets dry and flaky as well...both have lasted a few months and are still there now. I have tried acyclovoir tea tree oil even olive leaf. Sometimes they get lighter but they stick around...I don't get the normal outbreaks of blisters and pain etc...even the sores that I do have don't have any pain...I have no clue what this is I assumed it was hsv2 but it appears out of nowhere without pain for months at a time. When I got tested last year I got a full panel done 100% then got tested again six months ago full panel and only came up positive for hsv2.
Igg test btw
