Hello,
On 4/2/10 I had a possible herpes exposure. I vistited a massage parlor and the women gave me a hand job using her saliva for lubrication. Dr. H told me I should be fine. I did get a standard STD screen and everything is fine. I am now concerned about possible herpes.
Here is my background:
1) I have crohn's disease and receive Remicade infusions every 8 weeks and I am on 6-MP.
2) I have been doing a lot of high impact running and twisting lately. (Soccer).
3) Previously tested positive for HSV-1 via HerpesSelect test. Never have had a blister so do not know if it is oral or genital.
Current Symptoms:
1) Two weeks after exposure developed very faint irritation at tip of penis after I urinated. So faint I am not 100% sure it even existed. Lasted 2 days.
2) 3 weeks after exposure developed pain where both legs meet pelvis. Felt more like an exercise issue then anything else. Went away after 1 week.
3) Beginning around 5/3 started getting intermitent pain, tingling and numbness in right leg. Mostly around knee, shin and top of foot. Would come and go. Sometimes would move to back of leg, calf and hip.
4) HerpesSelect test 5/24 (7.5 weeks after exposure) came back positive for HSV-1, Negative for HSV-2.
5) 5/24 developed 1 pimple, red ring, white center, size of a pin head on right knee. Cleared up after 3 days.
6) Pain, tingling in right leg has gotten worse. Also now in right buttocks, extends down back of leg and side of calf. Gets worse when I sit. Also get some tingling in right arm/hand when I sit to long.
7) This morning developed pain in right testicle. Not constant, more shooting.
Are these symptome a possible primary outbreak for HSV-2, a recurring outbreak for HSV-1 or am I just crazy?
I have not been able to sleep for a week and prospects of waiting another 45 days to be retested via HerpesSelect is driving me crazy.
