Herpes???

ok, so i am a virgin and have never done anything regaurding skin to skin contact in the genital area, the most erotic thing i have done is kissed someone. Now i am not 100% sure that i have genital herpes but i do have sores on / around the tip of my penis, however, they are not irritating and they do not contain fluids... no flu like symptoms. any help?

This isn't herpes going on.

You've had these since before you were sexually active at all.  They are there more often than not. they aren't herpes!!

Next time you are at the doctor's for a routine physical, discuss it with your provider then to get better answers as to what is going on.

For the future, never receive unprotected oral sex unless you are aware of your partners std status.  that way youd on't have to worry like this :)

Your symptoms dont match herpes hun. you said these bumps have never gone away...herpes outbreaks clears up usually between 7-14 days...i think you should go to the doctor so they can tell you that you don't have it.

well i dont understand what else would cause these bumps... ive had them for a long time, they dont go away so no reoccurences. just this one case... and if i remember correctly i started to see them when i wasnt yet 13... this realllly confuses me. at 13 i hadnt even had a relationship... so could this be genetic or happened at birth?

No, no, the virus doesn't change types just because it goes from the mouth to the gonads. If your partner with a cold sore performs oral on you, then you get HSV-1 below decks. Genital HSV-1 actually has a very different prognosis from genital HSV-2 - if you have HSV-1 genitally, you can expect fewer outbreaks, milder symptoms, and a lower likelihood of passing on the disease.

A person with HSV-1 orally can get HSV-1 genitally, but this is considered unusual. A person with an oral HSV-1 infection can also get HSV-2 genitally, this is fairly common. But the genital symptoms would be milder.

I hope this answers your question ^__^  Oh, and the ammonia smell might indicate bacterial vaginosis, which is just sort of the opposite of a yeast infection.

but what if someone with hsv_1 goes down on someone and gives them 2 then can the person that had type 1 get it genitally? i dont know if that makes sense or not to you, but thats the best way i can describe it

as far as im concerned you have nothing to worry about you havent done anything that would put you at risk. Genital to Genital contact can cause hsv_2 you havent had sex or anything so its not that. The only other possible way to get herpes down there is if someone who has hsv_1 performs oral sex on you. You didnt do this either so stop worrying you're going to be fine hun. If your anxiety won't let you relax i would suggest going to the doctor but im pretty sure he's going to say the same thing but go if it will ease your mind also your symptoms dont match herpes.

so it is the skin contact that would cause it and not the saliva or are both possible transmitters?

thanks for your response, I have been stressing myself out so much, looking up things on the internet about it and everything. I havent eaten in 3 days and i think its due to stressing myself out. but I have noticed this smell of like ammonia since ive started my period. my mom says im just freaking myself out. I want to go to the doctor but im afraid of what i'll find out

Please don't stress yourself out you're probably just having recurring yeast infections its highly doubtful that you contracted herpes from fingering...but since you keep having yeast infections you should probably go to the doctor...but i seriously doubt its herpes. Go to the doctor. Thats the only way you will be able to put your mind at ease.

I am technically a virgin, although i have been fingered and had oral performed on me. i havent been fingered or anything of the sort  for like 5 months now. but recently (around the middle of the month of july) i had what i thought was a yeast infection ( cottage cheese like discharge, no pain, no itching, no burning). when my period started it went away. now as of the 5th of this month i once again had the discharge, that once again went away when i started my period. (which im still on now). but the reson im worried is cause ive read that re occurring yeast infections could be related to herpes, but  havent had other symptoms other than that. so my questions are...does this sound like herpes? can you get herpes by being fingered by someone? everyone says im just paranoid and that im ok...but i still cant help but be worried. any feedback would be highly appreciated, thanks.

Herpes transmission is based on skin to skin contact along with heat/friction. It's the sexual act itself that is the catalyst for transmission.

it is possible for genital herpes to transmitted through saliva...if the person you are with has oral herpes and performs oral sex on you than that can give you herpes of the genitals.
