I also now have herpes-like feeling around the anus. It is very sensitive, just from cleaning it after pooping. Soap around it kind of hurt a little.
I really think I scratch my penis with my sock and rubbed my semen into it and infected myself with HSV1 down there. The scratch was not that bad, but a few days later it looked a little worst and 2 weeks later I got the flu symptoms. it kind of spreaded a little. Blood work 4 months later came out negative for HSV2, and I was not taking valtrex. I had about 3 blood tests. The outbreaks now are very mild, where no swab test can be done. It is just some burning sensation that still come sometimes. The outbreaks are a small red dot. I also got an outbreak where I scratched while having sex, it was in a different place. I am not sure if I should mention this to future partners, or just use a condom. As if it is anything, it is HSV1, caught from myself.
Hi, the best way to handle this is to have a new sore swabbed within 48 hours after appearing just to confirm or a blood test 3 months post any sexual activity. Since you have hsv1 , passing it to youself would be very rare but if your sexually active, you might have picked up hsv2 which would be more likely if infact this is herpes.
The problem with your symptoms is that you would have flu like symptoms before the outbreak not after. If you do the blood test youll need to stop taking valtrex at least a couple of month before the test. This is why the swab would be a better avenue in determining if this is herpes.
Hard to say, but if you use a sock or other clothing (ex: rubbing your penis on your underwear), you can scratch your penis.
