Herpes?

Hello - I had an unknown lesion that I noticed recently which was removed by doctors with cryotherapy. They were not exactly sure if it was a wart or not - they didn't think so. That was a week ago and the lesion was on my pubic line just where the penis begins. Since then I have developed some unusual sensitivity and irritation with my scrotum and a rash developed on both of my thighs. I applied some hydrocordisone crème and the rash on one thigh disappeared for the most part. On the other thigh it seemed to vanish - then came back. It's now not very noticeable but I still have sensitivity with my scrotum and there seems to be a rash where my scrotum meets my leg which is very uncomfortable. Could this be herpes? Could it be related to the cryotherapy somehow? I have had cold sores on my upper lip of my mouth for years - I saw a recent post of yours and it stated it's very unlikely to get gential herpes if you already get cold sores. Sex history - received unprotected oral from a stranger 8 months ago. Thx

Just remember that these creams are a skin thinner so read the directions for use.

Great, thank you. That will explain why it's still feeling irritated. I was nervous about using cortisone that close to genitals - wasn't sure if it would affect or not. thank you!

I would not put any cj butter on it as will make it worse. Any oil or oitment based creams will only add to the irritation. When i get prickly heat rashes i use 1% cortizone cream with aloe and usually clears up in one day.

By sensitivity I mean it feels irritated around the edges and bottom when I walk - prickly itchy type feelings throughout the day. I have not put any sort of cream on it other than cJ butter

Not sure what you mean by scrotum sensitivity. Also it would be good to test for hsv1 because if you have it oral, getting it genital from oral sex would not be an issue as having it in one area would make you basicly immune to getting it in another.

Thx - I have no signs of rash on my scrotum area - it is just feeling very uncomfortable and irritated for some reason. Looks completely normal besides that. Can heat rash like you describe lead to scrotum sensitivity too?
I was told when I got my last STD testing done that I'd for sure test positive for HSV since I get cold sores -  so they said no point.

Hi, rashes as your describing in my experience  are most often prickly heat irritations. I get them all the time. Could be from wearing tight cloths and a reaction to laundry detergent or fabric softner and yes the cream does help clear them up. They are not a symptom of HSV.
Herpes sores are not removed by cryotherapy as are a blister or razor type sores not hard like warts.
Also herpes is not known to appear in the scrotum area as the skin is too thick and the statement that having cold sores aides in preventing genital herpes is only true with the same strain like hsv1.

If your sexually active you may consider having a herpes blood test for the protection of future partners.
