please ask your questions in your own post - thanks!
I have a question I'm positive for herpes type 2... My husband level 1 .... They said after u have ur outbreak u turn 2 level 2.. I just had my dauther yesterday wen I was pregnant the doctor did all the test they never told me she was gone have it.. Everything was fine... Dat mean she clean
if you have hsv2, your wife knowing about it while pregnant is pretty important. It's going to be almost impossible to avoid sex for her entire pregnancy.
If you take daily suppressive therapy with valtrex , avoid sex anytime you have any symptoms genitally and use condoms ( even while she is pregnant ), you reduce her risk of contracting hsv2 significantly. She would be 97-98% protected against the transmission of hsv2 with those precautions.
Hsv2 acquisition during the last trimester of pregnancy can result in an increased risk of transmission to the baby during birth. It's really important to have the talk with your wife about your herpes!
Yes you need to disclose your herpes to the doctor for your wifes protection.
Thanks allot for the information, we didn't do intercourse once she conceived 4 months back.. as she don't have symptoms till now. i got some confusion like the test result will be 100% accurate or not.. you cleared my doubt.. thanks a ton... one last question.. as my wife don't aware that i have herpes i am planning to keep this calm.. now in this situation even i don't need to disclose my herpes matter to her gynecologist right? please let me know...
Hi, if she took the test 3 months from any sexual exposure, then yes. Also 8 weeks would be a good indicator.
