So I got my results back today and I am positive for hsv 1 and negative hsv 2. How is it possible I have not infected my parter of over more then two years? I have not cheated on him and he has not either.
Most people who contract hsv2 genitally, already have hsv1 orally which takes the edge off of the hsv2 infection. Instead of presenting with the "classic" blistery and very painful infection with multiple lesions, they are much more likely to present with rather mild symptoms that are easily brushed off as being something else.
do you have a regular partner? If you do, you both should seek out type specific herpes igg blood tests at this point to see who has what. If you don't have a regular partner, seek out the testing on your own any time after 3 months after you last had sex.
A visual diagnosis of herpes is inaccurate and just poor medicine :( You need to confirm if indeed you do have genital herpes and if you do, if it's hsv1 or hsv2 going on. If your blood testing comes back as only hsv1+, no way to know if it's oral or genital if you don't have a history of cold sores.
most people do not get blisters as symptoms. for most folks, genital herpes presents much milder. This is why testing to know your status is so helpful. It's unfortunate that your provider missed the opportunity to swab your symptoms to give you answers sooner :( A fungal infection can cause symptoms similar to herpes so further testing is the only way you'll find out for sure what is going on.

I went already and she said it was a yeast infection and herpes. She did not take a swab test or anything and im just very confused because all the pictures I have seen on the Internet of genital herpes they show blisters such I never got.
Sounds more like a yeast infection that has caused your natural flora to grow out of control and is causing an irritation, I think its time for a visit to your GYNO to make sure all is ok.
Ok so if I had an insistent with white discharge, sorness, swollen vagina lips and small sores but no blisters, it looked like a fungus after a couple of days.
Hi, sometimes blisters, razor type cuts or a simple irritation and sometimes very minor, I believe the word herpes means the great impersonator as can be thought its something else. But generally with hsv2 genital its is painful blisters.
