Hi, yes your low positive hsv2 is indicative of a false positive. A second test is recommended and the western blot is preferred. If you retest dont use the same test.
I'm redid the test but they are using Lab Corp this time. They used another lab previously. I should be getting the results soon. I just don't understand how after having 2 negative test in the last 3 years now this one all of a sudden is positive and so low. The lady that works there told me she received 2 positive and then a negative so I have hope.
My lab corp results came back! And my HSV2 is 100% negative! I am finally put at peace! I was given a positive 1 week ago and I can honestly say that it's the worst feeling of not knowing or believing you have something! I recommend anyone who is having a low positive and knows that they haven't put them self at risk of contacting HSV2 to retest!!!! Labs make mistakes!! HSV2 is tested by having a sample of blood on a disk and watching to see if bacterial growth happens and how much of it...but it has to be set to a certain amount of time. If they pass the time even by 2 mins because they decided then and there they had to go to the bathroom you're reaults can be wrong and give you a false positive!
This website has been so helpful and has given me hope! I'm glad my HSV2 came back negative and anyone seeking advice I recommend searching through everyone story!!
