Hello all. I would really appreciate your thoughts and guidance. I am a 58 year old male. Last week I did a screening for all stds using stdcheck services. Everything was negative except I was positive for HSV-1 and HSV-2. The test was the IGG and the values were 5.84 for HSV-2 and 17.6 for HSV-1. The last time that I had been tested was about 5 years ago and I was negative for both HSV-2 and HSV-1. WHile I know that I cannot be certain when I was infected, my suspicion is with someone I met about 8 months ago. To my knowledge I never had the primary symptoms of herpes. I've never had a cold sore or blisters on my genitals. The only symptom that I could possibly relate to HSV is small bumps that periodically appear at the back of my knees along the tendon. These only appear on one side and are very itchy and go away as mysteriously as they appear. My main question is whether or not I am likely to remain asymptomatic (I've also seen this referred to as subclinical). Is there a "normal" course of the infection for someone like me who has not had the primary infection symptoms? Thank you for any perspectives. This was a surprise to me and I really appreciate any knowledge that anyone can share.
