Ok their was a blood test done and the results were posted like this I/II 48.8
if you've had an ulcer present for 3 months, you need to follow up on this with a dermatologist for further evaluation. a herpes lesion would NEVER stick around that long.
It is possible to have genital herpes and have this not be due to herpes. it's not the only thing that can cause issues in the genital area.
certainly confirm your status with a type specific herpes igg blood test at some point too just to err on the side of caution but keep in mind that having herpes most likely has nothing to do with these ongoing symptoms you are having. makes sense?

Sorry to confuse things... didn't realize your last sexual contact was in August.
I wish I could delete my previous post.
>>> There's a reason that some people have stars by their names and others don't.
Doesn't matter. Despite what TiminBoston says, antivirals can only delay seroconversion if they're taken when the infection is first acquired. Since you haven't had sexual contact since August, that is the last realistic time you could have been infected, giving you plenty of time to develop antibodies. Anti-virals won't have an effect on antibodies that your body has already made. It can possibly stop antibodies from being produced at the start, but you are out of that window period already.
Hi -
I know you probably don't want to do it, but iIt would be a good idea to come off of the Valtrex for the next several weeks and then get tested.
Terri Warren says (and others in her field agree) that daily suppression therapy - taken for longer then a week - will delay seroconversion (which means "turning negative to positive"). I wish I knew how long you have to be off of them to have an accurate test... I don't know anyone who has that info unfortunately.
But im on the valtrex for 7 days again which makes it like a 14 day with like a week in between me starting the 2nd 7 day antiviral

There are studies that show that people who take suppressive doses of Valtrex (or any antiviral) from their initial outbreak CAN have delayed seroconversion. Terri Warren mentions a few cases she's seen personally where antivirals taken daily have halted seroconversion until the person comes off of them.
If you've taken a limited course -- 7 days -- that shouldn't affect the blood test results, especially since you would have been infected at least 4 months before the antivirals were prescribed. That's plenty of time to develop antibodies that will show on the blood test.
Waiting for the results of everything else she's done but question can valtrex affect the results of the blood test?
Are you waiting on more lab results from this doctor? If not, I'd make an appointment to have a blood test done. If you are waiting, getting the rest of your results first couldn't hurt.
Oh and which test is most recommend before me with my big mouth say ALL OF THEM. LOL
To be quiet honest I dont know but this is one thing thats driving me slightly insane and right now im waiting on her to call and let me know if I can just go to the lab and get tested or do I have to make another appointment, cause she wants to wait and pray that I have another out break. But im starting to doubt if I even have hsv now
Sorry, just reread -- why didn't she test for herpes in the blood? You should definitely have that done.
That does sound strange. Have you had a blood test done? If your last exposure was in August 13, your blood should be positive if you are truly infected.
