Hsv2 Blood Test vs. Hsv2 Culture

In 06/09,   hsv 2  igg result was  0.08 igg/hsv 1 results 3.3 or 3.4 igg. I recall having a one-time fever blister OB on my lip when I was in elementary school.  Since childhood, I never had any OB on my lip.  In 10/09,  hsv 2 result was  0.00 igg and my hsv 1 result was between 3.3-3.4 again.  I never had any OB on my lip since childhood.

In 10/12, I started a new relationship. I took another test  0.11 hsv 2 igg and my hsv 1 igg result  4.5 or 4.6. not sure why. Never had any genital OBs or on lip.

07/13/13  3-5 white small bumps on my labia majoria (hair area) after shaving.  Culture was neg.  for hsv 1 and 2. I did get a copy of the report. I was prescribed Amoxicillin which it did not clear the bumps.   However, the bumps will come and go in the same area.   10/13/13 I visited a Dermatologist and  diagnosed with  cysts.  Vaginal culture sent to lab- result was an  over growth of Klebsiella.  10/13, I visited another GYN and I was told the same thing (cysts)- prescribed nystatin and triamcinolone ointment for the bumps which I never used because the small bumps cleared by themselves.  My gyn. prescribed me sulfa meth/trimethoprim for Klebsiella on 11/1.

The week of 10/21/13,   I had intercourse.   A wk.  later, 1  bump on the outside of my vagina near the perineum which I never had before.  The bumps were always on my labia majoria. The  small  white bumps not present on 11/01 or 10/21. 11/01/13 - visited my gyn  culture sent to the lab.  11/05/13 results  hsv2 positive .

Is it possible false neg. blood tests or possibly my boyfriend passed the virus  to me?   He will be tested.   11/06/13, I began taking MEDS. for hsv 2 which 1 bump was gone on 11/4 which it did not scab-my skin is irritated where bump was  located.  Take MEDS.  for my over growth bacteria after I take my hsv 2 MEDS.  Today, I noticed one  small  white bump on my left majoria (hair area) For 1 yr. my urine burned after sex only.  My gyn  said maybe allergic to his semen.

Hmmmmm. This is very complicated indeed.  I thought you said the bumps wasn't there on 11-01.  Why was a swab test done for herpes at that point?  Your previous results were clearly negative for HSV 2.  Have you actually seen a copy of your culture results that showed HSV 2 positive?  I think you should get one.  I think also your boyfriend definitely needs antibody testing as yes, you could have new infection.  In fact,  that seems to be the most likely thing, I think.  But very difficult to say at this point.
So the order of things for us, if you were our patient, would be:
1) antibody test for your boyfriend
2) get a copy of your positive culture results
3) you should get another antibody test down the road a few months.  If it is positive then, then it looks like new infection (previous negatives and now positive with a lesion.

Let me know if you have other questions, OK?

It sounds like you are having two different kinds of bumps, is that right?  The one that tested positive for herpes is different from the others?
Sorry, I can't help you with the other bumps as I cannot see them.  I'm not aware of Klebsiella causing those kinds of bumps but I think it is possible.  Your gyn would know better.

Thanks for answering my question.  I did not have  the small mid-size3-5 white bumps on my labia majora from 10/13/13- 11/05/13.  The three 3-5 white bumps reappeared the first week of October and disappeared without  treatment by 10/13/13.

After finding out my results on 11/05 for the one bump that tested hsv2 positive,  the small white bumps (hair area)  reappeared on 11/06 which I am going use some cream my gyn prescribed for me in 10/2013.

Can herpes been located on the labia majora (the hair)?  Those bumps tested negative in 07/2013 (culture).

Can Klebsiella (an overgrowth of bacteria in the vagina)  be the cause of the reappearing and disappearing  of the bumps? My gyn prescribed some antibiotics  which I take after taking Valtrex.

Thanks again
